Gods Generals
Who are Gods Generals you ask? Well there have been many, actually there have been more than I can count and many that I am sure I have never heard of, but here are a couple of examples:
Martin Luther – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Luther
Charles Finney - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Finney
Dwight L. Moody – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dwight_L._Moody
Billy Sunday – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Sunday
John Wesley – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Wesley
Smith Wigglesworth – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smith_Wigglesworth
Lester Sumrall – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lester_Sumrall
William Booth – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Booth
Cathrine Mumford – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catherine_Mumford
What do these men and women of God have in common? They were all normal everyday people like you and I that accomplished great things in the kingdom of God. Thousands, Millions, maybe even Billions of people have been saved, healed, and delivered as a result of their faithfulness to God. They all preached a message of Holiness and Repentance and brought about the manifestation of Revival through their ministry. They were considered Modern Day Extremists, Revivalists, Reformers, and Mothers and Fathers of the Faith. They were Gods Generals. You could be the next!

I agree – Augustine, John Calvin, Brother Lawrence, Thomas Aquinas, Thomas A. Kempis, C.S. Lewis, Billy Graham, St. John of the Cross… maybe not as popular (evangelist/revivalist) but I think God has used them as well.
Good post
Don’t forget A.A. Allen, John G. Lake, Derek Wilson, Keith Green and Heidi Baker
 I would’nt say that I am a General, at least not yet. Maybe someday.

John Calvin – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Calvin
Brother Lawrence – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brother_Lawrence
Billy Graham – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Graham
Not sure about all of the one’s listed, but they did all make a difference in their areas of service, and bring enthusiasm to their ministry.
What are the implications of their weaknesses?
@pb49r - You should look at them all when you get the chance, not only is reading about these folks interesting, but I have learned a lot about God and history by doing so.
In response to the implications of their weaknesses, I suppose that it shows us that God really can use normal everyday people like you and I to do extraordinary things. :spinning:
Don’t forget…
Jonathan Edwards
Charles Spurgeon
C.I. Scofield
A.W. Tozer
Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Charles Ryrie

I preferred the movie…
@alampi - Yeah, I have seen it. It is great isnt it!
There are no great men. There are only weak pitiful man used by a great and mighty God.
@PhilosophyOfJoel - I think that it is ok for us to judge someone according to their fruit. Jesus said to his disciples that the best way to become the greatest in the kingdom of God is to become the least. Meaning that the last will be first and that the first will be last. He that humbles himself will be exalted, and he that exalts himself will be abased. I agree that there is no good thing in our flesh however.
