  • I’ve been following all this from a distance. Any “R” except Ron Paul is fine with me. I’m not big on Rudi, but even he would be better than that nutty doctor. I love Huckabee’s ad with Chuck Norris. The real test of the pudding will come when the move beyond IA and NH into the second tier states like MI. Huckabee is getting a late start and still has a ways to go, but he’s very likeable.

  • Huckabee is definitely the guy.

  • Just wanting to say Hello, and wish you and Miss Chanda a Merry Christmas.

    God Bless,

    Robert

  • YES SIR!! I HOPE HE CAN WITH STAND THIS LITTLE BEATING HE IS TAKING RIGHT NOW. HE IS THE MAN OF GOD WE NEED IN THE WITH HOUSE!!

  • D, did ya know Brownback is endorsing him?

  • Sam Brownback is officially endorsing John McCain.

  • Finally people are taking Huck seriously!  I was quite annoyed to see that Romney is now making commercials attacking Mike, but it would make sense that he would be the first to do it.  And I am still quite annoyed at how the media is portraying Huckabee.  Today I read two articles about him:

    http://www.motherjones.com/washington_dispatch/2007/12/huckabee-faith-baptist-pastor-sermons.html

This article talks about Mike not releasing his sermons to the press.  The article pays no attention to the fact that the particulars of his sermons should not have a place in the Presidential contest.  His beliefs should be examined, but not every little particular in sermons he gave (and they say Romney is getting all the religious persecution!) twenty years ago.  But they end the article by saying, “Huckabee the candidate is shunning Huckabee the preacher.”  Where did that come from?

    http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/12/12/iowa.debate/index.html#cnnSTCVideo

In this video, CNN talks about Romney’s attacks on Huckabee and shows clips of how Huckabee has responded.  It specifically shows a clip of him saying how he wants to run a different campaign, a positive campaign (obviously contrasting himself with Romney).  But then after going through the whole story and showing clip after clip of his very generous responses to Romney and the other attack ads, you notice the caption under the video that says, “Mike Huckabee is hitting back hard at a new attack ad from Mitt Romney.”  Where did that come from?

So, two articles that are incredibly positive about Mike are turned around to try and say he is running from his beliefs and a hippocrite.  Three cheers for the liberal media.

  • I stand corrected, my apologies.

  • Where you been Derek?  We miss you on here.  Did you get a new video game for Christmas or something?……. no wait, that was me!

    Love you!:heartbeat:

  • Huckabee won Iowa!!!  Hopefully this will give him the momentum he needs to win the rest of the states!

  • I find it quite interesting how the media has tried to downplay Huckabee and his conservative following all along.  They were wrong to underestimate him in Iowa…. now they are saying it’s a conservative state and of course he won it, but he doesn’t stand a chance anywhere else.  I guess we shall see.  We shall see.

  • Hey! If you have not read it yet, read this article about Mike Huckabee. It is great and very encouraging.

  • Greeting dear friend in Christ Jesus!

God has sent me to you today also to give you some encouragement:

We must Take aggressive action against sadness, depression, doubt of God’s word and despair!

When we are afflicted by such enemies we must recall and take heed to [Psalm 8:2 (NIV)]:

    “You (God) have ordained PRAISE
    because of Your enemies,
    to silence the foe
    and the avenger .”

Jesus quoted that verse in the NT!
If He thought that it was important enough to quote and have recorded in the NT (Matt 21:16), how much more should we pay attention to those words and obey them?

We should open our Bibles to the Psalms and simply recite them out loud.

Do not quit until you feel the promised oil of gladness flow upon your spirit:

    [Isaiah 61:33 (NIV)]:

    Jesus came to:
“bestow on (us) a crown of beauty
    instead of ashes,
    the oil of gladness
    instead of mourning,
    and a garment of praise
instead of the spirit of despair.”

    Keep fighting good soldier,

    Pastor Doug

  • HI Derek—long time no see. I trust you and your wife are doing well. We moved in our mom in law and aunt to live with us a month ago. We added two master bedrooms for them. The adjustment is going very well. We want to do what the Lord wants here, and as usual when you do what He wants, you have some fun in the process.  It was nice seeing your photo when I visited a new friend. I know you and your wife cannot visit my site due to objectionable content, but I wanted to say Hi!!

    Blessings

    frank
