  • How do you get to Heaven?

Please be patient our internet is still down. I think it has something to do with my computer but I have to have my Uncle to look at it when he has time.

In the mean time, to continue the discussion, what do you think the requirements are to get to Heaven?

Why are many called but few chosen? What does that really mean?

You should all check out Driven by Eternity, and Affabel by John Bevere when you get a chance. Our church has been watching it and it is pretty good.

  • I’ll be back to give my answer this weekend.  Just wanted to say God bless you and Chanda!!

  • John 3:16-18
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

    KJV

  • I like the idea of just putting Scripture.  Scripture puts it better than I ever could.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”  Romans 10:9, KJV

  • Perhaps to raise the question, what is our part?  I think some are called to salvation but refuse to respond.  They are lost.  Sometime, they might decide to respond, and salvation awaits.  But for him who waits too long, or because the master’s return is delayed, they begin to beat their fellow servants, he will be rejected by the master (see Matthew 24:37-51).  We cannot just believe it with our mind (we must feel/or believe in our heart), we also must live right.

  • I think that many are called few are chosen, just simply means that God wishes that none would persish so the call for salvation goes out to everyone, but narrow is the way to God and broad is the way to destruction. Few people who hear the call of God to repentance and salvation listen and obey. Those of us who hear the call and obey are chosen. I hope you and Chanda are doing well. Please keep my children and grandchildren in your prayers. Love you, Sherrie

  • John 3:16-18 does say it all. The thing is, God gave us free-will and we choose not to answer to His calling on our lives. All you have to do is accept Christ into your life and walk in His ways, and that’s your “ticket” to Heaven. Unfortunately, not many choose to accept Him.
