Who should Christians vote for in 2012
First of all I would like to state that I believe that it is sin for a Christian to vote for Barak Obama in this upcoming November Presidential Election in 2012. I know that that statement is going to offend some people however, I would also like to state that I don’t think that Mitt Romney is a perfect option either but I think he is the best option that we have. My plan is to give you the facts and let you decide for yourself. A few things I think you should note is that I am basing my opinion solely on the fact that I am a Christian, I believe that the Holy Bible is God’s authoritative rule in our lives, and that God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit cannot be separated out of our lives, our politics, or anything without having created dysfunction and disorder.
1. The Economy- Most people say that they are voting for Barak Obama because of the Economy so I will start with that first. I can see how a Christian might think that helping the poor through Welfare, Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, and now Obamacare, might seem like that is the right thing to do. Ok so lets look at it a little closer. If all of these social programs cause our National Debt which has skyrocketed past 16 Trillion Dollars in Obama’s last four years to go up as well as our taxes isn’t that just going to make more people poor in the long run? One of America’s founding Father’s Thomas Jefferson said “I place economy among the first and most important virtues, and public debt as the greatest of dangers to be feared. To preserve our independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. If we run into such debts, we must be taxed in our meat and drink, in our necessities and in our comforts, in our labor and in our amusements. If we can prevent the government from wasting the labor of the people, under the pretense of caring for them, they will be happy.“ The Bible says that the borrower is the slave to the lender so to continue to keep getting us further and further into debt is sin. When you have credit card debt, you can usually sell off your house, or your car to pay it off if you have to, right? What happens when you run out of assets to pay off that debt? America has 16 Trillion dollars worth of debt, and to break it down my personal part is like $576,000 I can never pay that off as long as I live. Can you? I don’t have that many assets. My Question to you is this, if we continue down this current path in the name of helping the poor, wont that just make more people poor? I think it is the Church’s job to help the poor anyways according to the book of Malachi, and not Jobs and Family services. Barak Obama want to raise taxes, which will kill jobs, Mitt Romney wants to keep taxes lower, and deregulate to create more jobs. Not only is our National Debt the highest it has ever been but Unemployment is the highest it has ever been, as well as the price of Gas.
2. Abortion- This is one of the main reasons I believe we as Christians should vote for Mitt Romney because he is Pro Life. Obama is Pro Choice. To a Christian Abortion should be considered Murder as in Exodus 20:13 which is the Hebrew word (Rasach) which means to cut into pieces, to kill in cold blood or to Murder. Jeremiah 1:5 says “Before thou wast formed in the womb I knew thee and I consecrated thee a prophet unto the Nations.” Psalm 139:13-16 says “For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” You see we have a soul, and God knows our names before we are even born, and he has a purpose and a plan for us from the moment of conception. God said in Genesis 1:28 “Be fruitful and mutiply and fill the earth.” So it is sin and wrong to vote for someone who will use our tax money to kill future David or John or Paul’s. Margaret Sanger the Founder of Planned Parenthood was openly racist and want to depopulate the earth. Why would we want to support an organization such as that anyway?
3. Gay Marriage- Obama is for Gay Marriage, Romney is for Traditional Marriage between a Man and a Woman.
Genesis 1:27 “God created man in his image, male and female created he them and he told them to be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.” Genesis 2:24 says that “For this cause shall a man leave his Father and his Mother and shall cleave to his wife and they twain shall become one flesh.”
Leviticus 18:22 says “Man shall not lie with mankind as with womankind, it is an abomination.”
Look at history in the Bible the Moabites practiced homosexuality as well as sacrificed their children (they called it passing them through the fire) to the god Molech, Leviticus 18:21 says “And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.” and God destroyed the Moabites with fiery hailstones, In Genesis 19 Sodom and Gomorrah practiced homosexuality and they were so wicked that every man in the city came out of his house to rape lot and the angels that were with him. God destroyed them with fire.
Romans 1:21-27 also says “Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise they became fools, and changed the glory of the uncorruptable God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleaness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and recieving in them selves that recompense of their error which was meet.” and verse 32 says “Who knowing the judgement of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same but have pleasure in them that do them.”
The Greeks Committed the same Sins and God judged them, same thing with the Romans and the Germans. I am sure there is much more and I could go a lot more in depth but you get my drift. Sin is sin, and God will judge us for it.
4. Foreign Policy- Defend Israel #1 Priority. The Bible says in Genesis 12:2 that God will bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel. Mitt Romney will defend Israel and Obama will not. Obama has refused to even sit down with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He wants to force Israel to give up land and to create a Palestinian state. I think that is Israel’s God given land and she don’t need to give up one inch of it for nobody!
5. Mitt Romney will defend the Constitution
Obama already has created an internet kill switch in violation of our first amendment rights, he is the largest gun control President we have ever had wanting to abolish our 2nd amendment rights altogether. I think we have the right to keep and bear arms be it Shotguns and Rifles for hunting or hand guns, semi-automatic pistols, and Ak-47′s to defend our lives our property and those rights. Obama has already said he wants to create a New World Order, and he will give our National Sovereignty to the United Nations.
I think that if we want to be blessed, and free, and live in peace we will vote for Mitt Romney,
If we want to be cursed, and to be judged and possibly not even exist as the United States of America then we will vote for Barak Obama. I think the choice is clear. It is sin to vote for Obama.

“First of all I would like to state that I believe that it is sin for a Christian to vote for Barak Obama in this upcoming November Presidential Election in 2012″ = that is wrong! I am sorry… but people vote for people for different reasons, this doesnt make voting for one person or another sinful (at best you could ay misinformed or misguided). I am not voting for either of the major candidates. I know some say I will be wasting my vote, but we are supposed to vote who we think will be the best person fro president for the united states as a whole. as much as I love biblical values, we shouldn’t confuse national government with the kingdom or God or visa-vera. I am not saying we dont use our morals or ethics to judge who we vote for, but we also should not be trying to legislate Christianity onto the population as a whole. Jesus was not about making Rome into a Christina nation but he was about making disciples of all nations.
I like your foreign policy. You should run for office.

Sin #1 Obama is getting us into more debt which is sin (Borrow is the slave to the lender)
Sin #2 Obama is using our Tax money to pay for contraception and Abortion or murder (rashach) on demand.
Sin #3 Obama is endorsing the Gay and Lesbian lifestyle and promoting it.
Sin #4 Obama (I didn’t even mention this) is giving tax breaks to people who live in sin, commit fornication, and have sex outside of marriage.
Sin #5 Obama is against the apple of God’s eye (ISRAEL) he wishes to steal land from the Israelites and make a Palestinian State.
I could go on. A prominate minister named Bonhoffer during World War Two said to “To see evil, and not call it evil, is evil.” I think that apathy or not voting at all is worse when you see what is coming down the pike if Obama gets re-elected.

Thanks maybe I will consider it one of these days.
@derekwilson24 - I think you need to look again at your definition of sin. Sin is something that separates us from God and others (It is “missing the mark”). Those may be things you disagree with Obama/Democrats about, but it doesn’t make him or those issues sinful. Plus, I know for one, Israel continues to press the Palestinian border, those who it agreed boundaries with. We had a Palestinian pastor of a Christian church who says his people are being thrown out in the street and their houses are being bulldozed. Is this how we are to act toward others as Christian? As humans? We have so many Christians shouting Zionism, that they seem to have forgotten, as I said before, we are all children of God, because he created us all. Moreso, Christ said to make disciples of all nations. He did not say for us to protect Israel no matter what the cost.
I am not saying you have to agree with me, all I am trying to say it so see that the other side has a differing opinion, which doesn’t not make it sinful, nor does it make their leader the anti-Christ. Personally, I think Satan and his demons use politics to distract us from other things we could be doing practically, like being involved in our churches, adopting children, or feeding the poor.
And please dont confuse my comment as an endorsement for Obama, nor a negative few of Romney. I am just try to say these polarization and painting the other side as the devil is dividing us as a nation, as Christian, and as humans. While people are slinging negative remarks, real people are being hurt in the meantime.

Proverbs 22:7, Leviticus 18:22, Exodus 20:13, Romans 1, Genesis 12:3
Oh, so many aspects of this to unpack.
First, even with someone like Mitt Romney in power, the debt will still grow, but under Obama the budget deficits have remained at the same level. It’s not great, but it’s a start. The first action one must take to stop a runaway train and bring it back the other way is to slow it down first. The other aspect to the debt is this: under Mitt Romney’s tax plans, there will not be enough money coming into the treasury to pay the bills we have, which will further the debt/deficit issues. Of course, spending cuts can play a part, but when Romney is calling for an increase in defense spending, and is on record as not cutting spending in education, medicare, or social security, and that he will only cut NPR funding when pressed (0.012% of the budget)something has to give. Mr. Obama made it clear that hard decisions had to be made, and from the debate last week, it was clear only the President seemed ready to make those choices, even if it upset some people.
Second, defending the Constitution. Many of your assertions are just wrong: (1) the internet “kill” switch: from your own link, the report states that it was a Republican-started, bipartisan Congressional bill that was tabled for national security measures. It had little, to nothing, to do with Obama. That’s just partisanship to make the case that Obama wants to “shut down the internet”. (2) Gun control: at no stage has Obama called for further gun control, despite the numerous multiple-fatality shootings over the course of his presidency. Again, it’s GOP/NRA fear mongering that Democrats still harbor gun control measures – not gun bans. There is a difference. (3) It was a Texas judge, from your own link, who asserts without evidence that Obama wants to create a “New World Order” in which sovereignty will pass to the UN. For someone who uses the Constitution, I’m surprised you missed the part which states that any foreign treaties or agreements made in principle by the President must be approved by “two-thirds of the senators.” I highly doubt that ever happening, and again, it’s typical GOP-fear mongering. Finally, (4): The Constitution mandates a separation of Church and State. This means that religious beliefs cannot be legislated to force all people to live under one set of extralegal conditions. By all means, use your religious beliefs to inform your opinion to vote, but what you’re advocating is an Iranian-style theocracy. The United States was established to free people from religious persecution and intolerance. For a candidate to advocate policies in line with your beliefs, that candidate would have to be – by definition – an unconstitutional one. The Founders went out of their way to avoid using “Christian” in the language of the Founding Documents for this very purpose: they wanted to avoid the types of issues that resulted in them fleeing Europe to begin with. “God” is a very general term that people can interpret along their own personal beliefs.
More coming…
Third, the “#1″ foreign policy for the United States should be to advance the interests of the United States, not to defend Israel. While it may suit US interests to support Israel, it should not be the primary fulcrum around which the United States bases its foreign policy. There are far greater issues at stake then whether or not the US supports Israel. It’s a question of emphasis.
Fourth, the majority of your opinions are formed based on your particular religious beliefs. That’s fine. But, as highlighted by previous commentators, to call voting for Barack Obama a “sin” is a misapplication of the Bible. Many of the points you have raised, especially those on the economy, will be continued under either candidate. Would you still consider it a “sin” to support Mitt Romney when the debt and deficit continues to grow under a potential Romney administration?
The trouble with a foundation such as this is that it is too easy to see a double-standard emerge. That’s my only caution to you.

This post was based on the Bible and written to Christians. We are in agreement on that. :goodjob:

Don’t listen to me, but please listen to Reverend Billy Graham and his son Franklin Graham:
“It was a privilege to pray with Governor Romney-for his family and our country. I will turn 94 the day after the upcoming election, and I believe America is at a crossroads. I hope millions of Americans will join me in praying for our nation and to vote for candidates who will support the biblical definition of marriage, protect the sanctity of life and defend our religious freedoms.” Dr. Rev. Billy Graham
“I will not-can not-vote for a candidate, regardless of their political affiliation, who supports same sex marriage and advocates abortion. GOD will judge our nation if we continue down this path.
I watched in horror and absolute disbelief at the deafening roar as delegates rejected including any mention of GOD’S NAME.” (at the democratic convention) Rev. Franklin Graham
