The Word – John 1:1
John 1:1-5 says “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in the darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”
As I was meditating on this verse the other day I had this Revelation. John 17:17 says “Sanctify them through thy truth; thy Word is truth.” The Word of God (The Spoken Word, and the Written Word) is equal to Jesus and how he lives in us. For example I John 2:4-6 says “He that saith, I know him and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his Word in him, verily is the word of God perfected: hereby we know that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk even as he walked.”
If we read God’s word and we live by it, we are his. If we do not, we are none of his.
If we read God’s word and live by it, we are salt and light. If we do not we abide in darkness.
If we read God’s word and live by it, we will go to heaven. If we do not we will go to hell.
Pretty simple revelation I think, but yet profound. Don’t you think?
