Did anyone see Obama’s speech last night? What did you think? I actually did not get to see it but I did read up on it. If you too missed it click this link here: http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/04/29/obama-good-start-but-just-a-start/ I think that Obama has overturned everything good that Bush did such as Banning Embryonic Stemcell research, homosexual and lesbian marriage, and partial birth abortion. Now young women barely of age to drive can get the day after pill over the counter. Obama has also decided to keep everything bad that Bush did like the department of homeland security, the ending of habeas corpus and due process of law, and overthrowing the geneva convention, and I dare to speculate that with the scare of this so called swine flu, they will try to find away to get us to give up more of our freedom. I don’t like it one bit, but I didn’t vote for Obama either.

This is just one part out of like 12 on you tube. It is like a two hour documentary.

I guess everything you have written up there takes away some of our freedom, whether good or bad. But I am not a fan of Obama either…

What takes away from whos freedom?
I have one question.. Not that all this other stuff is not important but do you agree with Obama about the torture issue? Do you think that America should set the standard, even if it might prevent saving lives or should America allow torture because it could save lives? I am just curious.
:fun:
@Doubledb -
The Geneva Convention strictly prohibited torture and it stated that we would not torture other countries soldiers either. That is what we need to go back to. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geneva_Conventions#Protocols
I would rather have plan B available to young girls…it’s not an abortion pill…it can prevent an unwanted pregnancy or a REAL abortion, two options which are ten times worse.
Hmm mostly agree but to my knowledge America has never used torture. We do not pull out poeples fingernails or use all of the ruthless interigation tequniques evil regimes have. As for Waterboarding and such while psychologically effective I don’t consider such items torture.
Torture is abuse either physically or mentally and the tactics the US uses while certainly not gentle or kind were never inhumane.
@derekwilson24 - Um… I mean all those policies, whether good or bad, listed above are policies that take away people’s freedom. Which freedom is good and which freedom is not is the key, am I right?

I know that my views are extreme but I believe that Abortion in any form is murder and should be punishable by capital punishment. Life is sacred. If you dont want to have kids, stay abstinent.
@New1E13_15 -
I disagree that we dont torture. That has been all we have done since the creation of homeland security and the opening of Guantanamo Bay waterboarding is only one of the techniques that have been used. By the way, Obama did not close it like he said he was going to.
@nowayout001 -
I see what you are saying. My question is “Should Murder be a freedom though?” I think that our laws should reflect the Bible and impliment consequences for sin.
@derekwilson24 - I see. Of course, America prospered since God was watching her.
HUMMM, Well it is only the beginning of dark days… May the`bride of Messiah be made ready.
@nowayout001 -
Yes, but America isnt really prospering anymore. Maybe we got off track somewhere.
@Jwat5 -
Amen.
@derekwilson24 - Oh yes, indeed, America has gotten off track. The Atheist population is growing, and the government becomes more liberal… Is this why?
@nowayout001 -
Yes, I think that is part of it. Beacause of our wealth, and prosperity, we have become prideful and arrogant saying in our hearts “I have no need for God.” and have brought Gods judgement on ourselves. That is my opinion.
i TELL YOU, THAT IT IS REFRESHING TO KNOW THAT THERE ARE BROTHERS AND SISTER OUT THERE THAT i KNOW THAT KNOW THAT ITS NOT GOING TO GET BETTER BUT WORSE AND THEY ARE PREPARING THERE HEARTS TO STAY FAITHFUL IN THE DAY OF THE VENGEANCE OF THE LORD. COME LORD YESHUA
so its ok to punish someone with murder…because murder is so wrong, well then shouldnt whoever performs the capital punishment receive capital punishment? There would be no one left. Hello, it’s called circular logic. What about the men? I’m curious if women are executed, do they men get off scotch free? If you have an abortion in the first 8 weeks, it’s basically a pill. For some women, it may not be the right choice but it the most realistic, and in the end everyone is better off. Everyone can’t be perfect all of the time. That isn’t how life works.
@girl_blank -
Isnt that what we do in America? Murder people that Murder others. That is Capitol Punishment. I was just saying that I think Abortion is murder.
@girl_blank -
How about we go after those that funded the abortion, and performed it. So whoever paid for it gets the electric chair, and the doctor that did it.
@derekwilson24 - Well, I believe so as well~
