  • Mike Huckabee Projected to Win Ohio and Texas!

Just 24 hours until the polls open here in Ohio and it is predicted that over 52% of registered voters will turn out. The liberal media believes that Ohioans will vote Democratic again this election, but there is a wind blowing. I think that the wind is blowing to the right. A strong right and is going to stir up the remnant of those who voted republican in the last 10 or so elections and that those people, some with moral convictions like “The Right of Life” and “The Sanctity of Marriage” will join me today on March, 4 2008 in voting for Mike Huckabee.

  • May I just ask what the point of the primaries are? I mean, in the last two elections I do not remember anything about the primaries. I remmeber not getting to vote in highschool (at leat though I could not cause my Birthday was on Oct. 7th after registration was due) and then voting in my undergrad in Fall of 2004. I was planning on voting this coming November but now everyone and their mom is talking abotu voting in the primaries. I understand that whoever is selecting gets the support of their party but cant you just write in another name on your vote in November? I appreciate any explanation you can give. thanks.

  • I would LOVE to see Mike blow McCain out of the water. I don’t see it happening. But I’d love to see it.

  • Basically the Primaries determine who will be the Front Runners or Final Candidates in the november election by the number of votes they recieve. Whoever wins will most likely be nominated by their political party. Those who lose will most likely drop out of the race.  During the Primaries, at the polls, when you vote they ask you if you are Republican, or a Democrat, and those are the only people you can vote for. If you say that you are Independant in the Primaries you do not get to vote for any candidates at all at least in Ohio. You can only vote on issues as an independant.

The general election in November is different, it actually determines who will become President and in that election you can vote for all the Candidates Republican or Democrat and all the issues.

If Mike Huckabee wins Texas and Ohio he has a much greater chance at being the Republican Nominee because John McCain doesnt quite have enough votes to win the nomination so far.

  • thanks for replying.. so it is what I thought.
I still am not sure I see a real reason for it, but thanks for the response!

  • It appears that Huckabee is out. What do you intend to do?

  • sigh, now I wish there is a “none of the above” button on our election.

  • I will probably vote for McCain now, but he was my last choice. Sam Brownback being first, Mike Huckabee Second, and John McCain third.

  • I hear you I will probably do the same I just hope the Republican Party does not keep moving the way it is, we need another true conservative.

  • I was disappointed to have the deciding votes already cast on the GOP candidates.  Mike did the right thing to recognize the fait accompli, and withdraw after McCain hit the required number.  I do not know who would be the best running mate for John McCain, but Huckabee is a good option.  I put in my vote for Condi Rice.

I think the main thing we can agree on is that we need a President who understands the necessity and cost of war, with willingness to engage where needed.  We do need to try to extract ourselves out of areas of warfare where we do not need to be.  Most of the time I think we understand our reason for being in Iraq and as far as our soldiers they are doing the job.  But, we do not fully understand the Arab way of thinking, and it may be more likely that we will offend, than that we will win them over, by staying there past the end of this year, or next.  Who ever wins the White House will need to make a decision of what to do about Iraq.

Can we agree the John has a better grasp of what the nation and the world needs, than does Barak and Hillary?

  • Yeah, I think so.

  • Have a Blessed Easter.
