One Man + One Woman = Right Relationship
(Homosexuality is biblically Sin) Romans 1:18-32 “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.”
(God Created Man and Woman, Male and Female, Husband and Wife for each other.) Genesis 1:27-28 “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”
Genesis 2:18-25 ” And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.”
(It is Gods will for us to be married. One Man + One Woman = Right Relationship ) Mark 10:2-12 And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him. And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you? And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away. And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept. But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter. And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her. And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.
(God hates Divorce) Matthew 5:31-37 “It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths (God instituted marriage): But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne: Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King. Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black. But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.”
This is not the same as persecuting someone because of their skin color or cultural background. Homosexuality is Sin. It is an Abomination to Jehovah God, and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I don’t believe that two men or two women should EVER be allowed to legally get married, I believe that Marriage should be defined as one man and one woman. Period.

um, hi – derekwilson?
“Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. I Timothy 2:11, 12,
“Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.” I Cor. 14:34
you don’t think there is “a problem with women serving in the church, or even being a minister”? well – it would be quite difficult to serve and minister in a church without the permission to speak.
“However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way.” Leviticus 25:44-46
if slavery was not God’s will, according to the Bible, he sure does seem to condone it – at least make do with what current times permitted. hm. perhaps God did not “intend” for homosexuality.. but would condone such behavior as the authors of the Bible condoned slavery.
and another thing: “most preachers, ministers and pastors are volunteers”? ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? that’s the biggest load of bull shit i’ve ever heard. most, if not all, ministers get a salary for their work in the church. (if they are dedicating their lives to God, how are they supposed to eat and clothe themselves? you think God provides fish and bread on a regular basis?) not that it’s a lot of money. but money is money. and where does this money come from? OFFERINGS. and does that mean that you do not eat out, use your car, or go to the grocery store on the Sabbath Day (be it “Saturday” or Sunday)? SOMEONE has to work for you to be able to accomplish these daily tasks. then.. aren’t you in essence ENABLING what is NOT the will of God? for shame.
Great post
I wrote a blog about homosexuality a while back:

Did you know that in the historical context of that Scripture that in the culture at that time, women did not go to synegogue with the men at all. Then after Jesus came the women started going with the men, but they were asking too many questions. As a result they said let the (Unlearned) woman keep silent in the church (So as not to inturupt the service) and let her ask her husband questions at home. No, I am not kidding you. Read it again.
There are many women in the Bible whom God chose to use. Esther was a queen, Deborah was a warrior I think, Tabitha was a Prophetess, Priscilla was a female Apostle. I dont think that there is a problem with women serving in the church or even being a minister, you just have to be careful about not usurping a mans authority. I also disagree about Slavery, slavery is horrible and it is totally not God’s will for us to be in bondage. The whole reason that Egypt fell was because God delivered his people out of slavery.
Wichita, Kansas, is the home of the leading late term abortion provider of the world. His cronies in the state government are protecting him from the laws on the books forbidding partial birth abortion.
:wha: I did not know that, I will keep that in my prayers.
here’s the whole (yuk) nine yards:
Statistics on Post-Viability Abortions Performed by George Tiller
by Brian D. Parks, July 13, 2002
The state of Michigan is the center of the American auto industry. The state of Florida is the center of the American juice industry. The state of Texas is the center of the American oil industry. What state is the center of the American abortion industry?
If I were asked the question a few years ago, my answer would be immediate: New York. The abortion policies of the state of New York are almost as extreme as those of the Republic of China. A woman in New York can receive a legal abortion, at taxpayer expense, for any reason, by any method, at any time during the nine months of a pregnancy.
Oddly enough, my answer would have been wrong. New York is not the center of the American abortion industry. Nor is California, New Jersey, Maryland, Illinois, or any other left-leaning state with a highly concentrated urban population.
The center of the American abortion industry is the state of Kansas. This comes as a surprise to many, since Kansans tend to be simple, down-to-earth, conservative people—the kind that one would least expect to find inside the walls of an abortion clinic.
Of all the states in this country, why Kansas? What makes Kansas special when it comes to abortion? The answer is simple: Kansas is home to George Tiller, the most prolific late-term abortionist in the entire western world.
Since 1973, George Tiller—or “Dr. Tiller”, as he likes to call himself—has performed thousands upon thousands of late-term abortions. He is renowned among the pro-choice community for his impeccable record of safety: unlike some abortionists, he has yet to kill a woman in the process of terminating a pregnancy. His apparent skill as an abortion practitioner has won him numerous awards, including the National Abortion Federation’s highest honor, the Christopher Tietze Humanitarian Award.
Among pro-life advocates, he is famous for the cruelty with which he treats the unborn. No case illustrates the extent of this cruelty better than the tragedy of Baby Sarah Brown, one of his many victims. In 1993, a pregnant teenager and her parents traveled 900 miles to Tiller’s office in Kansas to receive an elective late-term abortion.
Tiller began the abortion by injecting a poisonous syringe through the pregnant teenager’s uterus and into the upper left side of the unborn baby’s face. He then instructed the teenager to return the next day for the completion of the abortion.
To everyone’s dismay, the baby did not die during the intervening hours. After the teenager began to complain of serious abdominal pains, her parents rushed her to a local hospital where the baby was eventually born—alive. The delivery room staff felt that life-support would be futile, so they wrapped the baby in a bassinet without attendance. The teenager and her parents quickly left the scene.
Even without medical care, the baby remained alive. After many hours had passed, the delivery room staff decided to give her treatment. Miraculously, she managed to survive through the entire ordeal. ”Sarah”, as her adoptive parents later named her, lived until the age of 5, when she succumbed to the developmental harm done to her body during the abortion. The KCl solution that had been injected into the side of her face had left her permanently blind and brain damaged.
Prior to the abortion, Sarah was a perfectly normal baby. The relevant medical records indicate that she had no disabilities or deformities. If Tiller hadn’t attempted to poison her, she would be a healthy 9 year old girl with an entire life ahead of her. Instead, she is in a grave.
One would think that Tiller’s experience with Sarah would be sufficient to turn his heart away from the evil of abortion. But the experience hasn’t changed him in the slightest. To this day, he continues his lucrative career as a late-term practitioner.
When confronted with stories like the story of Sarah Brown, pro-choice advocates usually insist that late-term abortions only occur in extreme, life-threatening circumstances. Until recently, this claim was an easy claim to make. For the most part, objective data on late-term abortion have been hard to come by. The abortion industry consistently refuses to disclose statistical information on the topic.
In the middle of 1998, the state of Kansas instituted a mandatory reporting policy that required Tiller to submit information about the abortions that he performs. The Kansas Department of Health and Environmental Statistics has recently published this information: http://www.kdhe.state.ks.us/hci/absumm.html.
The information sends a clear message: the majority of late-term abortions are purely elective. They typically involve healthy babies and healthy mothers. If you are inclined to disagree, or if you have a hard time believing that mainstream abortion practitioners would be willing to kill babies that are months from being born, then I ask that you continue reading. You will be amazed—and hopefully outraged—when you see the data for yourself.
Before evaluating the data, let me first provide some background information on Kansas Law and on other topics that are pertinent to Tiller’s practices.
Kansas Statutes partial-birth abortion restrictions, 65-6721:
(a) No person shall perform or induce a partial birth abortion on a viable fetus unless such person is a physician and has a documented referral from another physician not legally or financially affiliated with the physician performing or inducing the abortion and both physicians determine: (1) The abortion is necessary to preserve the life of the pregnant woman; or (2) a continuation of the pregnancy will cause a substantial and irreversible impairment of a major physical or mental function of the pregnant woman.
Kansas Statutes post-viability abortion restrictions, 65-6703:
(a) No person shall perform or induce an abortion when the fetus is viable unless such person is a physician and has a documented referral from another physician not legally or financially affiliated with the physician performing or inducing the abortion and both physicians determine that: (1) The abortion is necessary to preserve the life of the pregnant woman; or (2) a continuation of the pregnancy will cause a substantial and irreversible impairment of a major bodily function of the pregnant woman.
The “health” exceptions built into these statutes make them absolutely meaningless. They haven’t restricted a single late-term abortion. All that Tiller has to do to keep his atrocities within the boundaries set by the Kansas Legislature is find one pro-choice psychologist in the United States willing to claim that late-term abortion is necessary to preserve a woman’s mental health. If he can do that, he can do whatever he wants. It certainly doesn’t seem like a very daunting task, does it?
Since the concept of “health”—especially the concept of “mental health”—has no established legal meaning, virtually every late-term abortion that Tiller performs, no matter how abusive, remains legally invincible. If he wanted to, he could exact a partial birth abortion on a healthy, 40 week old infant. He would get off scot-free. Sadly enough, prosecutors would be powerless to convict him of wrongdoing. As long as he manages to find a mental health professional willing to vouch for his actions, there isn’t really any basis for conviction.
What about the babies? What are their “health” situations going into these abortions? Those who defend late-term abortion often claim that its occurrence is limited to situations where the fetus is horribly deformed.
Here are the results of a study that Tiller presented in Australia:
“[Dr. George Tiller] presented the results of a study involving 2750 women aged between 10 and 45 who underwent abortions between 1994-97. The average gestational age was 27 weeks. The vast majority-2051-were performed because of either maternal health problems, with the remaining 699 abortions performed because of foetal abnormality.” (Julie Ann Davies, “Abortionist Backs Sex Selection”, The Age: 15 Nov 1999, Internet Edition)
Fetal abnormality, as it is used in this context, can include things like down’s syndrome, hydrocephalus, cystic fibrosis, and other disabilities that are problematic, but not incompatible with meaningful life. Still, 3 out of 4 of the babies that were evaluated in the study were not abnormal.
This statistic is further confirmed in the Executive Summary for Fetal Indication Termination, http://www.drtiller.com/fasum.html, contained on Tiller’s website. He claims that from January of 1989 to May of 2001 he aborted roughly 2,009 post-15 week fetuses for reasons of fetal abnormality. This means that, on average, only 167 of the post 15-week fetuses that he aborted each year were abnormal. As the data he provided to the state of Kansas indicates (with links below), he aborts roughly 600 post 22-week fetuses each year. Do the math.
Abortion advocates often deflect negative attention by insisting that late-term abortions are in the best interests of the babies that are aborted. They claim that if the babies are not “terminated”, they will live lives scarred by illness. The truth is that the vast majority of the babies condemned to death by late-term abortion are healthy and capable of living meaningful lives.
There also exists a common misconception that late-term abortions are limited to medical emergencies. Nothing could be further from the truth. From 1998 until 2000, only one out of the 1168 abortions that Tiller performed after viability was done during a medical emergency. Upwards of 97% of his late-term patients weren’t even from Kansas—they flew in from other states to have abortions that they had scheduled in advance.
The procedure that Tiller tends to prefer is called digoxin induction—a drawn-out, two to three day process in which the attending abortionist poisons the unborn baby with chemicals and then removes it by inducing labor. Clearly, this is not the kind of treatment that a competent obstetrician would administer during a medical emergency. If a woman in the final months of a wanted pregnancy found herself in a medical emergency that required a c-section or a labor induction, the last thing that she would want would be for her doctors to intentionally kill the baby with a fatal poison. What would be the point?
It is inconceivable that the poisoning of a viable unborn baby before an induction could be necessary to avert physical health damage to a pregnant woman. The death of a baby doesn’t cure any physical illnesses. What, then, are the “health” problems that are leading to these abortions? Again, the answer lies in the nebulous concept of mental health—a loophole that has been tailor made to legalize elective abortion throughout the nine months of a pregnancy. The argument put forth by the abortion industry is that unwanted babies, if they are allowed to live, pose a threat to the psychological well-being of the mothers who will have to raise them. Consequently, they must die.
Let there be no confusion: the motivation behind these abortions is not the termination of an unwanted pregnancy. Once pregnancy has reached viability, doctors can perform abortion without engaging in an act of killing. The motivation behind these abortions is the destruction of an unwanted fetus, the elimination of an unwanted child. Tiller himself seems willing to concede the point. From his own mouth, “it is unplanned and unwanted motherhood that shipwrecks women’s lives, not unplanned pregnancy.” (George R. Tiller, Victory Rally and Declaration of Reproductive Independence, Wichita, Kansas, July 13, 2001 )
Now, to the data:
From July 1998, when reporting began, until December 1998, Tiller performed 227 abortions after 22 weeks. 91 of these abortions were performed after the baby had reached viability. For each abortion, he was asked to indicate whether the abortion was necessary to save the life of the mother. In each case, his answer was no.
During the same period, Tiller performed 58 “partial birth” abortions. All of these abortions were done on babies that had reached viability. Tiller was again asked to indicate, for each “partial birth” abortion (PBA), whether the procedure was done to preserve the physical health or the mental health of his patient. As expected, the answer given every time was mental health. Not one of his “partial birth” abortions was done for physical health reasons.

Vital Statistics: Abortion 1998
(http://www.kdhe.state.ks.us/hci/vital98/table23.html)
From January of 1999 to December 1999, Tiller performed 574 abortions after 22 weeks. 302 of these abortions were performed on viable babies. All of the abortions were done for “health” reasons; not one was done to preserve the life of the mother.
During the same period, Tiller performed 182 abortions with the PBA method. Every single one of these abortions was performed after viability. As in the previous year, he was asked to indicate, for each patient , whether the procedure was done to protect the patient’s physical health or the patient’s mental health. His answer in every case was mental health.
Ultimately, in the 9 month period from January 1999 to September 1999, Tiller averaged 5 post-viable partial birth abortions per week. On average, he killed a viable unborn baby with partial birth abortion every day that he went to work. For verification and more information, scroll to pages 10-13 of the following PDF file:

Vital Statistics: Abortion 1999
(http://www.kdhe.state.ks.us/hci/vital99/table24.html)
In the middle of 1999, Tiller came under fire for the numer of “partial birth” abortions that he was performing. [http://cjonline.com/stories/061599/kan_tillercliniclaw.shtml] So, in October of that year, he decided to stop using the procedure. In its place, he began to rely exclusively on the “digoxin induction” procedure.
His casual disposal of “partial birth” abortion should serve as a crucial lesson to those who are pro-life. Recent legislation that purports to ban the procedure serves no purpose. If “partial birth” abortion is banned, late-term practitioners like Tiller will simply revert to different procedures. The viable babies that need to be protected from the madness of late-term abortion will end up just as dead. To make serious strides towards protecting the unborn and the partially-born, we need to ban all elective late-term abortions, not just those that involve gruesome or superficially repulsive procedures.
His tendencies should also serve as a lesson to those who are pro-choice. If the leaders of the pro-choice movement were correct in arguing that partial birth abortion can be necessary to preserve a woman’s health, then how does George Tiller—America’s most active and sought-after late-term abortionist—manage to get by without using it? Ultimately the truth affirmed in Tiller’s policies is that “partial birth” abortion doesn’t serve any legitimate medical purposes. It is nothing more than a fancy way to kill a baby.
From January of 2000 to December 2000, Tiller performed 639 abortions after 22 weeks. 380 of these abortions were done on viable babies. That computes to roughly 7 post-viable abortions per week. As before, all of the abortions were done for “health” reasons. Not one was done to preserve the life of the mother. Vital Statistics: Abortion 2000
(http://www.kdhe.state.ks.us/hci/as00/Table24.htm)
From January of 2001 to December 2001, Tiller performed 635 abortions after 22 weeks. 395 of these abortions were done on viable babies. As usual, all of the abortions were done for “health” reasons. Not one was done to preserve the life of the mother.

When considering the statistics on post-viability abortion, it is important to remember that they deal with “viability” as it is defined by an abortionist who is definitely no friend of unborn children. George Tiller is well-known for putting the unborn at a disadvantage when making determinations about their chances of survival outside the womb. His own former employee has testified to his deceptive tactics:
“Tiller [would determine the baby’s] BPD (biparietal diameter), which is a measurement of the babies head. Tiller gave me this simple explanation of what a BPD is: at this certain angle, the baby’s head is roughly egg shaped. The ordinary method of measurement is to go from the top of the egg to the bottom of the egg. That is the widest point of the angle. But Tiller said he goes from side to side on the egg and gets a much narrower measurement. He does not keep the photos in the medical records and he disposes of the babies, so there is no way to go back and see what he has done.”
She was viciously attacked by the abortion industry, but, as the statistics verify, her statements were very close to the truth:
“I was there for about seven months, which is a fairly representative amount of time. In over 95% of these babies, perhaps more, there was nothing wrong at all. Nothing. And these were third trimester abortions.”
Testimony of Luhra Tivis:
Additionally, it is important to remember that these statistics only deal with one provider in one state. There are many other providers across the country that practice late-term abortion. God only knows what their numbers are.
Abortion advocates often claim that Roe v. Wade was a compromise. Gee, what a wonderful compromise! As a result of Roe and its progeny, states are essentially powerless to prevent the kinds of abuses that are taking place in Wichita.
In hospitals around the United States, “wanted” babies are being given the best medical care in the entire world. Meanwhile, “unwanted” babies of the same age are being poisoned, dismembered, decapitated, and trashed. Is that fair? Is that just?
Even more disturbing is the fact that Tiller is performing these late-term abortions for dubious “mental health” reasons. He is killing babies that his clients—many of them teenagers—have felt move in their wombs for months. What could be worse for a teenager’s “mental health” than to spend the rest of her life with the after thought that she chose to have her baby killed in a grisly late-term abortion? How could a twisted experience like that help the mental outlook of a teenager?
The United States Congress and the legislature of Kansas must act and act quickly. Each day that goes by means another dead baby.

Holy Cow! :lookaround:
Are you kidding me?
Hi! I agree with your comments about gay marriage on jewelee208′s site. :goodjob: I thought I’d let you know. There are so many people who disagree with them, but they have no idea how much God loves them and how much they are hurting Him by rejecting his Word.
Just so you know, the Bible also sanctions selling one’s daughter into slavery. Perhaps it is not appropriate to agree with everything the Bible says simply because it says it.
I’ll be honest, I’ve never even read the bible.
“Ooh sinner! Go to hell!” That was you. See? Now you don’t have to say it!
Now that that’s out of the way. Do you really think that God would want to keep his creations from being happy? Is not all love a form of the love God bestowed upon us (and therefore sacred)? You can give me all the bible passages you want but guess what. GOD DID NOT WRITE THE BIBLE. Who are you to say that God or Jesus did not accept gay people? Anyone could have written the bible! Chances are, it was a bunch of miserable serfs who just wanted to mess with everyone’s heads. They used their opinions to stimulate well… everyone.
You are just close minded. You can’t base your entire life on a book! I’m sure many things in the bible are true, but not everything! I am a very religious person, but I have not read the bible for that reason. God is what I see him as, not a bunch of religious freaks who don’t believe in love. You think you’re religious? You think you love God? Then worship his creatures as you do him! Bow down to all of his creations because no matter how we love we are the image of him! If you really think God or Jesus is so great, than why do you humiliate them so by preaching that they do not believe in love?
LOVE (in whatever form) + HONOR = BEAUTIFUL LIFE
You don’t know what love is or what it entails. You do not honor your fellow creations of God. You will live your entire life thinking your view is correct, when in the end you will come to find that you did not live it properly at all.
God Bless You.
Well, good luck hating sin, because you have probably sinned a lot more than I ever will. You don’t sin for loving someone. Life doesn’t work that way nor does God. You sin when you do something wrong, such as broadcasting to the world that gay people do not have the right to marry.
And, by the way:
Homophobia: a negative and contemptuous attitude to same-sex sexual relationships and to those who participate in them
So, yeah, you are homophobic. To a very high degree I might add. It is really a shame when the highest worshipers of God are also the biggest haters of mankind. But I’m not going to worry about it, because in the end, gay people do have the right to marry and one day everyone will accept it. Gay people are just as socially valuable (if not more so) than you. If you don’t like that, move to somewhere where love does not exist.
God Bless You and those like you
I am not religious, and I resent religion. The pharisee’s and the sadducee’s were religious. I am a passionate lover of the one and only God. Yes, God does want us to be happy and that is why he set out rules and guidelines for us in the Bible. Like “Be a husband of one wife” and ”thou shalt not commit adultery.” because he doesnt want us to get AIDS, or other sexually transmitted diseases or have children that cant be brought up and taken care of properly.
You may be right about some so-called, self-proclaimed christians or hypocrites that really don’t know what love is, but I would hope that if you or anyone else got to know me better that you would say otherwise. I know that there is no greater love than to lay down your life for your friends, and I always try to love others in the same way that I love myself. If some one asks me for my coat, I would give them my shirt also. If someone asked me to go one mile with them I would go two.

But God can’t protect us! He knew that, he learned that after Adam and Eve ate the apple! People were meant to love no matter the cost! I am not trying to undermine your beliefs, I respect them, actually. But really, it’s harsh to tell people that they don’t have a right to love someone because of the way the show their love. I’m glad to know that you don’t actually hate gay people, but very saddened that you think of them as sort of… below you.
And, God did not write the bible. Just adding that in there.
God Bless.
it’s funny how you base everything off a concept.
AND quote men to justify your thoughts and opinions.
I am of the opinion that Gay people choose to be Gay. They are not born that way, it is not in their genes, it is a lifestyle that a person makes a choice to live and most of the time it is because they were abused during their childhood.
You should study up on Sodom and Gomarrah, The Flood of Noah, and History such as the fall of the Greeks and the Romans. God just doesn’t tolerate Sin and he never will. God loves people and I love people, I am sure you have heard the saying “Love the person, Hate the Sin.” That is what I do. I would never treat a Gay or Lesbian person or anyone else different because of their life style, skin color or culture, however God says that if we love him we should keep his commandments.
”For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” II Peter:1:21
God is three parts 1. God the Father 2. God the Son 3. God the Holy Spirit
So, God helped men write the Bible. God speaks to us today, and yes God speaks to me.
Some actually really do believe that God may have actually written the first couple chapters of Genesis because the writing is different from the rest of the book. Moses probably wrote the rest.
Stop quoting the bible! I get it, it’s a cool book, I’ll have to read it some time, but goodness!
Being gay is actually a chemical imbalanc ein the brain. There are certain hormones that go to men and women while in the womb. Sometimes, when in the womb the wrong hormone can be given to the child, thus making them gay. Some people do actually choose to be gay, though, but not all. You really shouldn’t generalize.
And I’ve read up on all of those. God has a wrath, but I don’t recall any of those stories involving gay people, so they are all fairly irrelevant.
I’m gay (lesbian to be technical)…I serve our country in the military. I don’t believe in random abortions but I do want a woman to have a choice if she is raped for instance, or some other act that isnt her fault.
I can’t speak for others but I will not be silenced. I’m not even liberal. But I refuse to be an American citizen fighting against inbred prejudices while defending our country.
I could go toe to toe with you on the religious aspect since I am Christian and I also know the ins and outs of Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism and Judaic but I rather not. My fingers are tired as is.
This story about Sodom and Gomorrah involves men wanting to have sex with men. I think that classifies as Gay.
Genesis 19:1-29 ”The two angels arrived at Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gateway of the city. When he saw them, he got up to meet them and bowed down with his face to the ground. “My lords,” he said, “please turn aside to your servant’s house. You can wash your feet and spend the night and then go on your way early in the morning.” ”No,” they answered, “we will spend the night in the square.” But he insisted so strongly that they did go with him and entered his house. He prepared a meal for them, baking bread without yeast, and they ate. Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom—both young and old—surrounded the house. They called to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them.” Lot went outside to meet them and shut the door behind him and said, “No, my friends. Don’t do this wicked thing. Look, I have two daughters who have never slept with a man. Let me bring them out to you, and you can do what you like with them. But don’t do anything to these men, for they have come under the protection of my roof.” ”Get out of our way,” they replied. And they said, “This fellow came here as an alien, and now he wants to play the judge! We’ll treat you worse than them.” They kept bringing pressure on Lot and moved forward to break down the door. But the men inside reached out and pulled Lot back into the house and shut the door. Then they struck the men who were at the door of the house, young and old, with blindness so that they could not find the door. The two men said to Lot, “Do you have anyone else here—sons-in-law, sons or daughters, or anyone else in the city who belongs to you? Get them out of here, because we are going to destroy this place. The outcry to the LORD against its people is so great that he has sent us to destroy it.” So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were pledged to marry his daughters. He said, “Hurry and get out of this place, because the LORD is about to destroy the city!” But his sons-in-law thought he was joking. With the coming of dawn, the angels urged Lot, saying, “Hurry! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away when the city is punished.” When he hesitated, the men grasped his hand and the hands of his wife and of his two daughters and led them safely out of the city, for the LORD was merciful to them. As soon as they had brought them out, one of them said, “Flee for your lives! Don’t look back, and don’t stop anywhere in the plain! Flee to the mountains or you will be swept away!” But Lot said to them, “No, my lords, please! Your servant has found favor in your eyes, and you have shown great kindness to me in sparing my life. But I can’t flee to the mountains; this disaster will overtake me, and I’ll die. Look, here is a town near enough to run to, and it is small. Let me flee to it—it is very small, isn’t it? Then my life will be spared.” He said to him, “Very well, I will grant this request too; I will not overthrow the town you speak of. But flee there quickly, because I cannot do anything until you reach it.” (That is why the town was called Zoar. ) By the time Lot reached Zoar, the sun had risen over the land. Then the LORD rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah—from the LORD out of the heavens. Thus he overthrew those cities and the entire plain, including all those living in the cities—and also the vegetation in the land. But Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt. Early the next morning Abraham got up and returned to the place where he had stood before the LORD. He looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah, toward all the land of the plain, and he saw dense smoke rising from the land, like smoke from a furnace. So when God destroyed the cities of the plain, he remembered Abraham, and he brought Lot out of the catastrophe that overthrew the cities where Lot had lived.”
derek – i wish there was a way to have this discussion with you in a rational way. let me tell you a little bit about myself. i was born into a christian home. my father is a pastor. i was very active in church from an early age. come junior high/high school, i was on praise team, student board, attending bible studies and a leader for AWANA. i had a very close relationship with God. i did QT on a daily basis. i had no doubt in my mind and my heart that he was the Lord Almighty, and thinking about the sacrifice of Jesus Christ would bring me to my knees in tears.
after some time, in my later high school years, i began to stray. but i would never denouce my faith. however. one day, i saw a film on the Nuremberg Trials of German Nazis. they were being held for war crimes during WWII. viewing this film, i could not fathom their Nazi lack of remorse. for all their heinous criminal acts against the Jews. it was astounding how they felt nothing. and why? “we were following orders!” they had not ONE ounce of compassion or a sense of guilt. they had a duty – which they successfully executed. why should they be punished. they should be praised! such a disconnect… from how they were brain-washed. and – what i would consider to be – common compassion and humanity. then i thought deeper into this. my shock led me into a pool of self-reflection. had i been born in the 1930′s in Germany… i would have been a German. probably feeling those same feelings of hatred and civic duty in ensuring an effective genocide. if my WORLD is telling me: this is true. this is true. this is true. why would i believe any different? and that realization scared me more than anything: my GOD. i would have been a NAZI.
derek, this challenged me most deeply. to consider my faith. my position in the world. what i was born into. how my own “personal” thoughts had been shaped and guided. and that led me to believe that religion is a by-product of upbringing and experience. i was a Christian, just as easily as i could have been a Nazi.
you say that you are against religion but rather – a passionate lover of God. i respect that. God taught us love – especially through Jesus and His sacrifice. when you consider what our country is: with how strongly we value freedom and equality, how can you be supportive of denying an individual common rights shared by others? how can you say your actions and words are backed by love? all this talk of Scripture would be endless. hell, theologians have been debating for centuries. no resolution will come from quoting Scripture back and forth. one thing i think we can agree on: if God does exist, His BEING is rooted in LOVE. and what kind of God would deny that expression of love between two of His children? we are all sinners. loving is not a sin. and to place barriers to these people who want to express their love for each other – the way EVERY OTHER PERSON has the right to do. well. to me, that just seems godless. AND judgmental. the only power we have – is to allow all creatures of God to live as they do – with the SAME RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES as everyone else. let God judge. let God decide. this ban on gay-marriage goes against the very fiber of what God seemingly intended when He created this world: LOVE. sin is sin. if you believe this to be sinful – for whatever Scripture guides you to believe so – then hell. all liars should have their mouths stapled shut. all those who have had unpure thoughts should get labotomized. and children who have not been obedient should be disowned.
if you truly say that you are a crusader for love. because God is love. then please reconsider your political views. you can still see things as being sinful – but acknowledge that the right to choose – GOD’S GIVEN GIFT – is not yours to take away.
I believe that a man has a RIGHT TO CHOOSE………Any wife he wants to.
And that a woman has a RIGHT TO CHOOSE……………Any man she wants.
That is how God created us, for a MAN and a WOMAN, (not a man and man, or woman and woman) to leave their FATHER and MOTHER (not Father and Father, or Mother and Mother) and to become one joint body. Husband and Wife making their vows before God in a Holy Union in which God intituted himself because it is not good for a man to be alone.
and COME ON! The truth is absolute. Everyone knows the truth when they hear it, they just don’t want to hear it because of their SIN (You know greed, lust, adultery, fornication, hate, murder, drunkeness, having something that they love more than God or whatever) and the Bible says that just with the signs of nature we are without excuse. We will all stand before Jesus Christ on Judgement day and I hope that we will not say “Well, I heard the truth but it was contrary to what my culture taught me, or I thaught that the Bible was just a bunch of stories that were out dated.” It actually looks to me that we just want what we want, to heck with God. Yes, we all have our own glasses that we see through dimly, or our own way of life that we have learned from childhood. But when you hear the truth and you turn away, you are accountable for that and if you lead others astray, then you are accountable for that too.
do you not find it possible that there are different interpretations of the bible?
do you accept everything the bible says as unerring truth and law? do you take into context the time period at which it was written? so if you do take everything the bible says as unerring truth and law, do you practice the ideas of not eating shellfish and women wearing veils to pray? because that’s in there.
you can’t pick and choose what to cite, and i realize, you have your beliefs, and i have mine so this is most likely a futile arguement but:
i am a proud christian
and a proud homosexual. It is completely possible.
the message is not about hatred, it’s about unconditional love and reaching out to everyone who believes or can believe.
just remember, interpretation is subjective. the way you interpret those passages may not be the same way everyone else does.
have a great day.
To answer your question:
http://www.xanga.com/derekwilson24/600380890/the-bible-is-literally-literal.html
people are not condemned by god for being in love. it makes me sad that people like you think so.
“This story about Sodom and Gomorrah involves men wanting to have sex with men. I think that classifies as Gay.”
the city was not destroyed because homosexuality is bad; the city was destroyed because rape and selfishness is bad.
i personally believe the bible is only second hand stories written by second hand observers, and i would never put my trust in its words. but if you choose to believe that it was truly inspired by god, i think you should realize that it can be interpreted in many ways and not put so much faith in your own interpretations.
i sincerely hope that you adjust your rigid mindedness one day and become more accepting of people’s differences.
and while you’re out stopping those abortions, may the fetus you save be gay.
Wow, Jewlee really does not get it. Your arguments make sense, but she just can not accept that there is truth. But since she does not believe in truth, of course Biblical arguments would mean nothing to her. We can just pray that God will show her the truth. I mean, He has already put it all around her, but she hasn’t picked up on it yet.
Oh, and thanks for giving real Biblical arguments for what you believe. Way too many of the other commenters on Jewlee’s site just quoted Christian bumper stickers… ugh.
hi. ok. in case you didn’t know, there are 56 references against heterosexual acts mentioned in the bible, versus a total of what, 6 (let’s repeat that: 6) references against homosexual acts. and yes, i HAVE read the bible. so bugger off. homosexuality is NOT a sin, never has been and never will be. i promise. (oh. a minor bit of background. my mother is a pastor. AND my mother is a LESBIAN!)
something in one of your comments made me go “Oh really?!”. it was this: “”thou shalt not commit adultery.” because he doesnt want us to get AIDS” hmm. no adultery because AIDS is an issue? what? at the time the bible was written, no one even knew that sexually transmitted diseases existed. so this point is null and void.
and something else. you said this “you just have to be careful about not usurping a mans authority”. well. let me tell you something mister. NO MAN HAS ANY AUTHORITY OVER ME. i am my own woman, and will continue to do so. men are worth no more than women, and therefore HAVE NO RIGHT to hold any authority over them.
also, about the abortion thing. IT’S MY BODY, GOD DAMN IT. AND YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO TAKE AWAY MY RIGHTS. NOR DO YOU HAVE ANY RIGHT TO CHOOSE WHAT I MAY OR MAY NOT DO WITH MY BODY.
oh gee, and just ONE more thing. another comment of yours: “I am of the opinion that Gay people choose to be Gay. They are not born that way, it is not in their genes, it is a lifestyle that a person makes a choice to live and most of the time it is because they were abused during their childhood.” :nono: hello. how IGNORANT can you get. now let’s be a touch more personal. i am BISEXUAL. yes, i am physically attracted to both sexes. (and enjoy sexual relations with both . . .) now, to disprove your theory. i was not sexually abused as a child. nor was i abused in any way. on top of that, i did not choose to be bisexual. i was born that way. couldn’t change it if i wanted to. why? because you cannot change the TRUE nature of things. so, there are straight people, and there are gay people, and there are bisexuals, and transgenders. none of these people CHOSE their lifestyle. they were each born that way. did YOU choose to be hetersexual? i highly doubt it.
so, now that you’ve made me thoroughly disgusted in the ignorance and hatred that some people choose to express, i will give you the one-finger salute and say adieu.
((perhaps we could have a nice debate sometime, and perhaps not. sorry if i sounded rude, but these are extremely personal issues for me.))
Hence Romans chapter 1.
At the time the Bible was written if they did any of those things that are an Abomination to God, they stoned them to death. So, heck yeah they didnt have sexually transmitted diseases like they do today. Sickness and Disease are the result of Sin, we have more of it today because Sin is getting more and more prevalent each day.
Because less and less people read the Bible, or even listen to those who do and apply it to their daily lives. Hence the word Secular. They wanted a secular society, I guess they got it. Now lets build a big ark and gather two of each kind of animal and get ready for the rain. Or was it fire this time?
i’m also curious, how many gay, lesbian, bisexual people do you know personally enough to make the claim that we carry “hurt, anger and frustration”?
(where are you pulling this random statistic from?)
I have known several.
Plus, I think most of the comments on Jewelees site prove it.
“people are not condemned by god for being in love” –
There have been several comments to this effect on this blog. I have some questions about that.
If I have children and love them, God does not condemn this. What if I decide to have sex with my children? In you all’s view, does God condemn this? Where do we draw the line? If I fall in love with my horse, does God condemn having sex with a horse? If I fall in love with my brother or sister, would God condemn that sex? If I fall in love with my sister’s husband, does God condemn having sex with him? If I fall in love with my Dad, does God condemn having sex with him? Are there ANY boundaries or are we allowed to screw everything we have feelings for?

Marriage is a LEGAL thing. Here in America religion is seperated from laws. Or, it’s supposed to be.
Why don’t you just move to Iran?
And MARRIAGE is LEGALLY defined as ONE MAN & ONE WOMAN. :goodjob:
I totally agree with this post. The bible is just not guidlines to follow, it is the litteral word of God. And it says the in Romans 1:32, 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
And I can not vote for anyone who believes in or agrees with abortion or gay rights, even if it means Hillary will win. I will have to right in someone, like Huckabee
I think you’re slightly delusional.
But that’s fine.
I don’t believe Gays are any more hurt angry or frustrated than the next person….
Considering that we’re all equally human…
DEREK. you really are unbelievable. so self-righteous in your smug understanding of the Bible. this is ludicrous! the more you spout off your mouth, the more unchristian you are coming across as. honestly. stand back. reread EVERYTHING you have written. can you REALLY say that Jesus would do as you are doing right now?? UNBELIEVABLE. “Did I ever mention that most Gay, Lesbian or Bisexual people usually carry a lot of hurt, anger, and frustration with them? They really go off too when you talk about the Bible. I wonder if that is conviction. Hmmmmmmm………………….”
did you ever for ONCE think that maybe it’s from all the OPPRESSION people like YOU give them?!?! you call it conviction?! i call it A REACTION. it really is scary how close-minded and EVIL you are being… you say that the Bible needs to be read in its entirety to truly understand the word of God. i agreed with that statement 15 years ago. but – USING YOUR EXAMPLE – show me where the Bible “explains” the “women should be silent in church” verse. all the reasoning and justification behind that statement. the reasoning and justification YOU provided. you truly understood these verses from reading the Bible alone? NO. you most probably learned about the meaning behind those verses in church, or from more research. because you possibly did not agree with this statement. the hypocrisy in trying to learn more about what a certain verse ACTUALLY means and then turning around and reading another verse and taking it LITERALLY is unbelievable. UNBELIEVABLE.
Marriage is a God thing. God created Marriage. And it was to be between a man and a woman. Being gay is a sin in the eyes of the Lord just as much as stealing or unforgiveness
Um, I’m not stupid, I know that’s what the law says. It’s not right that the government should decide who we marry, that’s why so many people want to change it. Ever heard of the other ammendments?
you’ve got some excellent arguments! however, i think we are casting pearls before swine
I like casting pearls. Its kind of like playing marbles. :)
But yeah, I know what you mean. Why try?
Because if you can reach just one person for Jesus it would be worth it.
Romans was a letter for the Roman people of that time period, as a loose guide for how they thought people should live so as not to “piss off” god. that doesn’t mean much in today’s society. sorry, but it doesn’t.
and about that baby thing. it is a part of my body as long as i nourish it with my body. until it is actually born and seperate from me, it is a physical part of ME. so i have EVERY RIGHT to choose to have an abortion. you think it’s murder, fine. you can condemn me all you want. i won’t go to hell just because you don’t like me.
i do not carry much anger, hurt or frustration with me at all. hello, bisexual here. and my MOTHERS are really quite happy people. they’re so happy, it’s cute. the only anger/frustration we have is with people like you and our current government.
i go off when people talk of the bible as if it is absolute truth and perfect, when it was really just written as a vague guideline by flawed humans. my mother, however, doesn’t go off, except when she’s in a bad mood and feels like quoting the bible back at you to prove that for evey point that you make, there is something that makes your point invalid.
and i didn’t say they didn’t have STDs, i just said they didn’t really know about them. and sickness/dosease is NOT the result of sin. these are both NATURAL things.
and just because we have a secular nation doesn’t mean there’s going to be some huge flood, nor will we have a huge fire. it’s just not going to happen. sorry, but where have you seen god taking an active role in life? it hasn’t happened for at least two thousand years, and it happening then is a debatable thing as well.
christianity teaches LOVE FOR ALL. so where’s your love? all i see you doing is judging and hating. (also, there’s a theory going around that not only was Jesus sexually active, but that he was sexually active with some of his disciples, not only women. *gasp* oh my. that would make him bisexual. and he was such a content person . . . such a KIND AND LOVING person. if he is your savior, why do you condemn people? Jesus would be giving them love. not sexually, necessarily, but love is love is love. doesn’t matter how it is expressed.)
oh, and something for Mighty_Men_of_Valor: God did not create marriage. sorry. but that was all on the early church. go take a religion class. they’ll say the same thing. (i’m currently in one . . .)
Keep up the good work! The truth will stand and WILL squash all the idiotic ideas we humans can cook up. God WILL judge sinners at His judgement seat.
Depate is hard. Keep at it! :eprop:
I saw you were in an Assemblies of God blogring.
I went to an Assemblies of God christian school from first grade to 10th. They, being the teachers and pastors, are part of the reason for my atheism. Almost every faculty member was narrow minded. The way the acted was disgusting ot me, and their actions were very unrational. Seeing as how thats your denomination, I can see why you have these crazy ass beliefs about gays.
I am not AG, I just belong to the blogring. Thanks for visiting my site.
BARUCH HASHEM THAT NOT ALL CHRISTIANS IN GERMANY IN THE 1930′s WERE NAZIS!!!
Thanks to Corrie Ten Boone and others who helped Jews throughout Nazi dominated Europe to hide God’s people from the enemies. Jewelee208, dear, please do not miss the point of this man here honey! He is in no way plotting to exterminate the homosexuals like the Nazis tried to do also I might add. Hitler euthanized the old, the lame, the mentally handicapped, any other disabled person. He wanted to cull out those he saw *unfit* to be in his society.
Anyway. What I’m saying is please don’t take the horrors of the holocaust and project them upon someone so hastily. derekwilson24 is entitled to his opinion too. Let’s not wipe the earth clean of people who share their convictions in a calm matter that might just go 100% against what we want to hear.
Jewelee208, I am touched by your introspection and self evaluation upon watching the Nuremberg Trials of German Nazis. Remember that they let one of the members of the Third Reich go free and his influence carried on with Saddam Hussein. The Grand Mufti is who I am referring to here.
OOoops history rambling again…Jewelee208, I don’t think you have been that brainwashed. Beloved go out on a limb and break free from any man’s WORLD-VIEW. Dig deep and ask the God of the Universe His opinion.
I see it as revealed to Moses, the Prophet and the other prophets. King David and Jesus too.
Does this mean that I’m going slap somebody down who doesn’t agree. HEAVEN FORBID!
Ask the LORD to be real to you and allow Him to reign in your heart and mind. He isn’t concerned with how far any of us has strayed away. he wants to hold us. Listen to us. Soak our tears. Lift His Right Hand over us and rejoice over us in blessing. He wants to transform you and I beyond anything we could ever imagine. Can you go out on a limb and trust Him and not any other man or woman? I want to break free from the fear of any man or woman. Break clean free from the fear of other people’s thoughts. And I see HaShem (the L-RD). He is great and I revere and respect Him. I lay down my soul and take upon me His yoke. May you each find Shalom. His yoke is easy and in Him you can truly find liberty and rest. Love for all pain. Jesus will embrace any sinner. He embraced me out of a very sexual immoral and drug laden lifestyle. He built me up. Do I look down on anyone who is trapped momentarily by illusion and deceit. May Heaven Forbid and if so may I repent immediately.
Hey man, your heart is in the right place, for sure, but you gotta watch the way you go about it. You are polarizing people AGAINST Christianity by your approach. Look, I disagree with your opinion on gay marriage, and I have my own (well educated) reasons for that. I was brought up in a very Christian home, went to private schools almost all my life, even went to a bible college for several years. One thing that I’ve learned from all of it, from all of my time studying the bible, studying people, etc… is that you have to have a relationship with someone before you can tell them they’re wrong. If you challenge people, as stubbornly and self-righteously as you have been on here, and you don’t know them previously… all you’re gonna do is piss them off, and if you’re looking to win converts, even if it’s just to your idea, let alone religion, that is NOT the way to do it. I have called my girlfriend out on lots of things, even one night telling her that she was full of shit, and then telling her exactly how she was full of shit. I can get away with that because I know her well and she knows I know her well, and she knows that I know what I’m talking about and she respects my opinion. Hell, she even told me I was right at the end of that particular discussion… because she respects my opinion and knows that what I say comes from love. Random people on xanga don’t see that. They see closed-mindedness and judgementalism. Look, Jesus recognized the need for a relationship. He ate with the tax collectors and pharisees that he was criticizing. He showed them love. Your statement, and I quote: “God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.”(Christians should not take pleasure in or hang out with or enjoy the company of those who do such things.)“, especially the part about not socializing with people like that, is a direct contradiction to the way Jesus told us to evangelize, and in fact, the way he himself preached. My sister called me an alcoholic once because at the end of the day, when I get home from work, I simply want to unwind with a beer, and I had a habit of going through about a 6-pack a week. She considered that excessive, even though it averages out to less than a beer a day. I was pretty pissed about the whole thing honestly, because she judged me based on her values, which state that alcohol is unequivocally wrong. My values don’t line up with that, and I have my biblical justification for drinking in moderation. You will get the same response every time you drill your values into the heads of people who are set in theirs unless you develop a relationship with those people first. They key is, show them love and don’t question them until you’re close. Then you have all the latitude in the world to tell them if you think they’re doing something wrong… they’ll respect your opinion and it might even make a difference if you present it right (ie, not bible-bashing on xanga).
Gay relationships are immoral. Says who? The Bible? Somehow, I always thought that freedom of religion implied the right to freedom from religion as well. The Bible has absolutely no standing in American law, as was made clear by the intent of the First Amendment (and as was very explicitly stated by the founding fathers in their first treaty, the Treaty of Tripoli, in 1791) and because it doesn’t, no one has the right to impose rules anyone else simply because of something they perceive to be a moral injunction mandated by the Bible. Not all world religions have a problem with homosexuality; many sects of Buddhism, for example, celebrate gay relationships freely and would like to have the authority to make them legal marriages. In that sense, their religious freedom is being infringed. If one believes in religious freedom, the recognition that opposition to gay marriage is based on religious arguments is reason enough to discount this argument.
it’s people like you that make people like me hate themselves. congrats!
i just would like to say that you seem to be an extremely close-minded asswipe. thank you, that is all.
I am sorry if someone got offended. I never meant to offend anyone. I really do not have anything against gay, lesbian, or bi-sexual people. I have known several and got along with them just fine.
I followed your link to the things about the Golden Compass and was floored. Having read two of the three books, I was surprised to find out all of that about the books, the author and what his intentions are. Before I found out all that, I just thought the books were weird.
Wasn’t planning on seeing the movie anyway, but now I’m definitely not going to.
your religious views have caused you to become closed minded to a set of beliefs fed to you from a book and others alike. Open your mind, think for yourself, and rationally make judgments instead of what a religion is telling you.
LOL. And what proof is there that God exists? NONE.
Read on, honey. And get a life.
Jesus Christ is a False Messiah
According to Jesus admissions, as well as the Bibles prophecies, Jesus of Nazareth could not have been the Messiah. This of course, would invalidate Christianity as we know it. The compilation presented here shall be split in three sections. The first shall be the biblical prophecies that were made in order to identify the messiah, which Jesus does not fulfill. The second shall be the prophecies that Christians use to say that Jesus was the Messiah, yet they clearly fail. The third set shall be the prophecies and statements Jesus made yet they are false and have never came true.
Prophecies to Identify the Messiah, Which Jesus Does Not Fulfill:
1) Matthew 1:23 says that Jesus (the messiah) would be called Immanuel, which means “God with us.” Yet no one, not even his parents, call him Immanuel at any point in the bible.
2) The Messiah must be a physical descendant of David (Romans 1:3 & Acts 2:30). Yet, how could Jesus meet this requirement since his genealogies in Matthew 1 and Luke 3 show he descended from David through Joseph, who was not his natural father because of the Virgin Birth. Hence, this prophecy could not have been fulfilled.
3) Isaiah 7:16 seems to say that before Jesus had reached the age of maturity, both of the Jewish countries would be destroyed. Yet there is no mention of this prophecy being fulfilled in the New Testament with the coming of Jesus, hence this is another Messiah prophecy not fulfilled.
Prophecies Christians Use to Verify Jesus as the Messiah, Yet Clearly Fail:
4) The gospels (especially Matthew 21:4 and John 12:14-15) claim that Jesus fulfills the prophecy of Zechariah 9:9. But the next few verses (Zechariah 9:10-13) show that the person referred to in this verse is a military king that would rule “from sea to sea”. Since Jesus had neither an army nor a kingdom, he could not have fulfilled this prophecy.
5) Matthew (Matthew 2:17-18) quotes Jeremiah (Jeremiah 31:15), claiming that it was a prophecy of King Herods alleged slaughter of the children in and around Bethlehem after the birth of Jesus. But this passage refers to the Babylonian captivity, as is clear by reading the next two verses (Jeremiah 31:16-17), and, thus, has nothing to do with Herods massacre.
6) John 19:33 says that during Jesus crucifixion, the soldiers didnt break his legs because he was already dead. Verse John 19:36 claims that this fulfilled a prophecy: “Not a bone of him shall be broken.” But there is no such prophecy. It is sometimes said that the prophecy appears in Exodus 12:46, Numbers 9:12 & Psalm 34:20. This is not correct. Exodus 12:46 & Numbers 9:12 are not prophecies, they are commandments. The Israelites are told not to break the bones of the Passover lamb, and this is all it is about. And Psalm 34:20 seems to refer to righteous people in general (see verse Psalm 34:19, where a plural is used), not to make a prophecy about a specific person.
7) “When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.” Hosea 11:1. Matthew (Matthew 2:15) claims that the flight of Jesus family to Egypt is a fulfillment of this verse. But Hosea 11:1 is not a prophecy at all. It is a reference to the Hebrew exodus from Egypt and has nothing to do with Jesus. Matthew tries to hide this fact by quoting only the last part of the verse (“Out of Egypt I have called my son”).
8) “But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.” Micah 5:2 The gospel of Matthew (Matthew 2:5-6) claims that Jesus birth in Bethlehem fulfils this prophecy. But this is unlikely for two reasons.
A) “Bethlehem Ephratah” in Micah 5:2 refers not to a town, but to a clan: the clan of Bethlehem, who was the son of Calebs second wife, Ephrathah (1 Chronicles 2:18, 2:50-52 & 4:4).
B) The prophecy (if that is what it is) does not refer to the Messiah, but rather to a military leader, as can be seen from Micah 5:6. This leader is supposed to defeat the Assyrians, which, of course, Jesus never did. It should also be noted that Matthew altered the text of Micah 5:2 by saying: “And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Judah” rather than “Bethlehem Ephratah” as is said in Micah 5:2. He did this, intentionally no doubt, to make this verse appear to refer to the town of Bethlehem rather than the family clan.
Statements Jesus Made Which Are False:
9) Jesus in John 14:12 & Mark 16:17-18 said: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth in me, the works that I do shall he also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” This implies that Jesus true followers should be able to routinely perform the following tricks: 1) cast out devils, 2) speak in tongues, 3) take up serpents, 4) drink poisons without harm, and 5) cure the sick by touching them and MANY other of Jesus “works”. Curiously I have yet to see a Christian that can do any of the above on demand.
10) In John 14:13-14 Jesus stated: “And whatsoever ye ask in my name I do, that the Father may be glorified in the son. If ye ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” In reality, millions of people have made millions of requests in Jesus name and failed to receive satisfaction. This promise or prophecy has failed completely.
11) Paul says Christianity lives or dies on the Resurrection (1 Corinthian 15:14-17). Yet Jesus said in Matthew 12:40 that he would be buried three days and three nights as Jonah was in the whale three days and three nights. Friday afternoon to early Sunday morning is only one and a half days, so he could not have been the messiah by his own and Pauls admission.
12) Jesus prophecy in John 13:38 (“The cock shall not crow, till thou [Peter] hast denied me three times”) is false. Mark 14:66-68 shows the cock crowed after the first denial, not the third.
13) In Mark 10:19 Jesus said: “Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, do not steal, do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.” Jesus needs to re-read the Ten Commandments. There is no Old Testament commandment against defrauding. The only relevant statement about defrauding is in Leviticus 19:13 , which says : “Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbor.” This is an OT law, but is not listed with the Ten Commandments. Surely, if Jesus was god incarnate he would know the commandments.
14) “And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven” (John 3:13). If Jesus is in heaven, how can he be down on earth speaking? Moreover, according to 2 Kings 2:11 (“and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven”) Jesus was not the only person to ascend into heaven, nor was he the first. Elijah preceded him and apparently Enoch did also (“And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him”–Genesis 5:24).
15) In Luke 23:43 Jesus said to the thief on the cross, “Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.” This obviously has to be false, for Jesus was supposed to lay dead in the tomb for three days following his crucifixion.
1 6) Jesus says : “Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy” (Matthew 5:43). This statement does not exist in the OT either. In fact, Proverbs 24:17 says, “Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth”
17) Jesus is reported to say: “The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it” (Luke 16:16). Certainly every man is not pressing to enter the kingdom of God. The very fact that I am an atheist (one third of the worlds population does not believe in a god) proves this verse to be false.
18) “Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the Sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath, and are blameless?” (Matthew 12:5) Nowhere does the OT state that the priests in the temple profaned the Sabbath and were considered blameless.
19) “Yea; have ye never read, ‘Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise’” (Matthew 21:16). Jesus is quoting Psalm 8:2, which says, “Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies”. “Perfect praise” has little to do with “ordaining strength because of thine enemies.” Another misquotation!
20) “But I say unto you, That Elias is indeed come, and they have done unto him whatsoever they listed, as it is written of him” (Mark 9:13). There are no prophecies in the OT of things that were to happen to Elijah.
Jesus, in all his “God incarnate” wisdom, contradicts himself:
21) Jesus consistently contradicts himself concerning his Godly status. “I and my father are one.” (John 14:28) Also see Philippians 2:5-6 Those verses lead us to believe that he is a part of the trinity and equal to his father being a manifestation of him. Yet, Jesus also made many statements that deny he is the perfect men, much less God incarnate. Take the following for example: “Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, that is God” (Matthew 19:17). “My father if greater then I.” (John 14:28) Also see Matthew 24:26 Clearly, Jesus is denouncing the possibility of him being the Messiah in those three verses.
22) Jesus said, “whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire” (Matthew 5:22). Yet, he himself did so repeatedly, as Matthew 23:17-19 and Luke 11:40 & 12:20 show. Clearly Jesus should be in danger of hell too?
23) Does Jesus support peace, or war? Matthew 5:39 “Resist not evil, but whoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.” Also note Matthew 6:38-42 & 26:52 where Jesus teaches non-resistance, Non-violence. Now read (Luke 22:36-37) Where Jesus commands people to take arms for a coming conflict. (John 2:15) Jesus uses a whip to physically drive people out of the temple.
24) Matthew 15:24 Jesus said, “I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of lsrael,”. This would of course mean that he is here only to save the Jews. The scriptures repeatedly back up this notion that Christ is savior to the Jews and not the gentiles (see Romans 16:17, Revelations 14:3-4 & John 10). The contradiction lies in what Jesus later tells his followers: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations” (Matthew 28:19).
25) Can we hate our kindred? Luke 14:26 Jesus says “If any man come unto me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brother, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he can not be my disciple.” John 3:15 “Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer.” Also see Ephesians 6:22, 5:25, & Matthew 15:4
26) Even many of the staunchest defenders of Jesus admit that his comment in Matthew 10:34 (“I came not to send peace but a sword”) contradicts verses such as Matthew 26:52 (“Put up again thy sword into his place: for all that take the sword shall perish with the sword”).
27) Deuteronomy 24:1 & 21:10-14 all say that divorce is allowed for the simple reason if a “man no longer delighteth in his wife”. Yet Jesus comes along and breaks his fathers law by saying in Matthew 5:32 that adultery is the only way one can be divorced.
28) In Mark 8:35 Jesus said: “…but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospels the same shall save it.” How could Jesus have said this when there was no gospel when he lived? The gospel did not appear until after his death.
29) Matthew 6:13 Jesus recites a revised prayer and states, “Dont bring us into temptation.” God is the cause of everything, even Satan. God has been leading people into temptation since the Garden of Eden. Otherwise, the trees of life and knowledge would have never been there.
30) Matthew 12:1-8 Jesus thinks its okay to break his fathers laws, by breaking the Sabbath day. He states that he is basically exempt for such fiascoes and that he is Master of the Sabbath.
31) John 3:17 Jesus contradicts himself when he says, “God didnt send his son into the world to condemn it, but to save it.” Jesus seems to forget his own stories.
32) James 4:3 If your prayers are not answered, its your own damned fault. This is in direct contradiction to where Jesus says “seek and ye shall find, ask and it shall be known to you”.
33) “If Jesus bears witness of himself his witness is true” John 8:14, “If I bear witness of myself it is not true.” John 5:31
34) “I am with you always, even unto the end of the world” (Matthew 28:20), versus “For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always” (Matthew 26:11 , Mark 14:7, John 12:8) and “Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am thither ye cannot come” (John 7:34). Is this the kind of friend one can rely on?
35) “And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her” (Mark 10:11 & Luke 6:18), versus “And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery” (Matthew 19:9). In the book of Matthew, Jesus said a man could put away his wife if one factor– fornication–is involved. In Mark and Luke he allowed no exceptions.
36) Jesus is quoted: “Judge not, and ye shall be not judged; condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven” (Luke 6:37 & Matthew 7:1), versus “Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment” (John 7:24). Jesus stated men are not to judge but, then, allowed it under certain conditions. As in the case of divorce, he cant seem to formulate a consistent policy.
37) “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” Matthew 27:46, (also note the time before crucification where Jesus prays for the “cup to passeth over me”) versus “Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour? No, for this purpose I have come to this hour” (John 12:27 RSV). Jesus cant seem to decide whether or not he wants to die. One moment he is willing; the next he isnt.
38) In Luke 23:30 (“Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, fall on us, and to the hills, cover us”) Jesus quoted Hosea 10:8 (“…and they shall say to the mountains, cover us; and to the hills, fall on us”). And, like Paul, he often quoted inaccurately. In this instance, he confused mountains with hills.
39) “And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they know him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist” (Matthew 17:11-13). John the Baptist was beheaded, but Jesus was not. And what did John the Baptist restore? Nothing!
40) We are told salvation is obtained by faith alone (John 3:18 & 36) yet Jesus told a man to follow the Commandments-Matthew 19:16-18 (saving by works)-if he wanted eternal life.
41) In Luke 12:4 Jesus told his followers to “Be not afraid of them that kill the body.” But Matthew 12:14-16, John 7:1, 8:59, 10:39, 11:53-54, & Mark 1:45 show that Jesus consistently feared death. Jesus went out of his way to hide, run, and attempt escape from the Roman and Jewish authorities.
42) Matthew 5:28 says to sin in “your heart” is considered a sin in itself. The messiah is supposed to be God incarnate, not able to sin, yet in Matthew 4:5 & Luke 4:5-9, Jesus was tempted by Satan in the desert, which is sinning in his heart. Jesus also took upon all the sins of the world during his crucifixion, so how can it be said that “Jesus was the perfect man without sin”? This would lead one to believe he was not the Messiah.
43) Jesus told us to “Love your enemies; bless them that curse you,” but ignored his own advice by repeatedly denouncing his opposition. Matthew 23:17 (“Ye fools and blind”), Matthew 12:34 (“0 generation of vipers”), and Matthew 23:27 (“. . . hypocrites . . . ye are like unto whited sepulchres. . .”) are excellent examples of hypocrisy.
44) Did the people of Jesus generation see any signs? (Matthew 12:38-40) Jesus announced that no signs would be given to that generation except the Resurrection itself. (Mark 8:12-13) Jesus announced that no signs would be given to that generation. (Mark 16:20) They went out preaching, and the Lord confirmed the word through accompanying signs. (John 20:30) Jesus provided many wonders and signs. (Acts 2:22) Jesus provided many wonders and signs. (Acts 5:12 & 8:13) many signs and wonders were done through the apostles.
45) Jesus commands the disciples to go into Galilee immediately after the resurrection. Matthew 28:10 Jesus commands the disciples to “tarry in Jerusalem” immediately after the resurrection.
46) Matthew 28:18 & John 3:35 both tell that Jesus said he could do anything. Yet Mark 6:5 says Jesus was not all powerful.
47) Jesus says in Luke 2:13-14 that he came to bring peace on earth. Matthew 10:34 Jesus back peddles and says he did not come to bring peace on earth.
48) Did Christ receive testimony from man? “Ye sent unto John and he bare witness unto the truth. But I receive not testimony from man.” John 5:33-34 “And ye shall also bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.” John 15:27
49) Christ laid down his life for his friends. John 15:13 & 10:11 Christ laid down his life for his enemies. Romans 5:10
50) Deuteronomy 23:2 says that bastards can not attend church unto the tenth generation. If Jesus was spawned by Mary and Jehovah as the Bible claims then he is technically a bastard and should not be the leader of the church.
Be not tossed to and fro by every wind or doctrine.
Beware that in the last days there will arise false prophets and if it is possible they will decieve even the very elect.
They will come to you in sheeps clothing but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Hey Derek -
- I think maybe your approach is too aggressive and disruptive – the sin of Sodom was this, they had plenty of time, plenty of food, but they didn’t care for the old and poor – do we jump all over people who don’t help the old and poor? Sadly we respect them…
It seems to me that much of the writing here is why some Christians are made prey by Wolves.
Here you have trampled upon whatever fair teachings there were in the bible. I will quote no scripture, for the foundation of virtue that I stand upon is my own. A heathen I am perhaps in your eyes, but I at least make no false claims otherwise. I am Wolf.
I have met many Christians in my time, those who are deemed truely devout are not those who quote scripture endlessly in an attempt to make a point without themselves thinking, it is those who know what the scripture means, not in objective terms, but through what is called faith. God is not something you see, or hear, or touch, or read, it is something that resides within the mind and heart. You the forgetful followers claim to possess such things by barking louder, but in reality there is precious little in your hearts.
If you wish to respond, I ask that you speak with your own words and do not regurgitate any more scripture for my reading pleasure. Find something there that is you, and not something you have been told to think.
gluttony is also a sin
Yep. :giggle:
Abortion (proverbs31butterfly)
I stole this off Facebook, it’s really good!!
Hi Mommy!!!!
I am only 8 inches long but I have all my organs. I love the sound of your voice. Every time I hear it I wave my arms and legs. The sound of your heart beat is my favorite lullaby.
Month Two
Mommy, today I learned how to suck my thumb. If you could see me you could definitely tell that I am a baby. I’m not big enough to survive outside my home though. It is so nice and warm in here.
Month Three
You know what Mommy? I’m a boy! I hope that makes you happy. I always want you to be happy. I don’t like it when you cry. You sound so sad. It makes me sad too and I cry with you even though you can’t hear me.
Month Four
Mommy, my hair is starting to grow. It is very short and fine but I will have a lot of it. I spend a lot of my time exercising. I can turn my head and curl my fingers and toes and stretch my arms and legs. I am becoming quite good at it too.
Month Five
You went to the doctor today. Mommy, he lied to you. He said that I’m not a baby. I am a baby, Mommy, your baby. I think and feel. Mommy, what’s abortion?
Month Six
I can hear that doctor again. I don’t like him. He seems cold and heartless. Something is intruding my home. The doctor called it a needle. Mommy what is it? It burns! Please make him stop! I can’t get away from it! Mommy! HELP me!
Month Seven
Mommy, I am okay. I am in Jesus’s arms. He is holding me. He told me about abortion. Why didn’t you want me Mommy?
Every Abortion Is Just . . .
One more heart that was stopped.
Two more eyes that will never see.
Two more hands that will never touch.
Two more ears that will never hear.
Two more legs that will never run.
One more mouth that will never speak.
