  • Unity in the Body of Christ

For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many. If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. And if they were all one member, where were the body? But now are they many members, yet but one body. And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked. That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.  I Corinthians 12:12-26

If we are all a part of the same body, why do we sometimes look down on other brothers and sisters in Christ because of our beliefs, or our denomination, or for any reason?

How can we change, in order to bring unity?

  • How do Jewish people tithe?

I seriously want to know what Tithing is like in modern day Judaism. If anyone knows please tell me. I am looking for the Biblical context of it.

  • Pay the bills, or love your neighbor?

I just wanted to continue an old conversation on the Prosperity Message that we had a couple of weeks ago. If you haven’t read it please do. http://www.xanga.com/derekwilson24/610914563/the-prosperity-message-ii.html

I wanted to ask you all a couple of questions.

Is it o.k. to pay your tithes (10% of your income) to the church, if it is not going to help feed, clothe, and shelter the orphan, the widow, the poor, the homeless, and the helpless? (Since that is what it is supposed to be used for)  I mean if all of it just goes to buildings and grounds, bills, the pastor and the staff is that o.k?

  • Urgent: Prayer Request

Please pray for me. I have been fighting some kind of sickness. It is mainly in my chest, and the worst thing about it is my cough. It has been so bad I have went to the doctors office twice in the last week and a half. This is the worst cold I have had in years. I have been coughing so hard that my head feels like it is going to explode, my whole body is sore, and I have had sharp pains going down both of my arms at the same time! Regular cough syrup, cough syrup with codine  has not been working, Mucinex has not been working, and I have not been able to sleep, or get much rest the last couple of days. I already had one round of antibiotics. Please pray that I would get better soon, and that Chanda would not get it. Thanks.
