  • The prosperity message

It seems to me, that one of the biggest messages in the New Testament that Jesus preeched, was basically not to love money and material things because the love of money is the root of all evil, and if you love anything more than you love God then you cannot please him. You cannot serve God and Mammon aka Wealth. Jesus said that it is harder for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven than for a camel to go through the eye of a needle. The point here doesnt even matter if it is a literal needle or something else, the point is that it is hard.

How much money or stuff is too much?

At what point are you serving Mammon and not God?

     Is America rich?

What could we be doing on the personal level and the National level that we are not in reguards to money and wealth?

  • If you’re not willing to give it all up for God, then you worship it and not the Living Father.

  • How much money or stuff is too much?

I think money and stuff gets too much when our whole lives revolve around our stuff. I mean, we really don’t need half the stuff we have. We should be willing to give it up.

     </P?

At what point are you serving Mammon and not God?

Oh, that is one thing that is hard to root out. I’ve been trying to abstain from spending a lot of money needlessly, and I’ve decided to start buying most of my clothes at thrift shops … I guess it kind of comes down to our consumer culture. Are we primarily consumers? Or are we giving to others, sharing and being responsible stewards of our money and time?

    Is America rich?

America has 12% of the world’s population and it consumes 80% of the world’s resources. So, I would say yes.

What could we be doing on the personal level and the National level that we are not in reguards to money and wealth?

I think we should be willing to share our resources with others, be able to give freely and not let ourselves be caught up in the material. I like to take a day or two a week and fast from stuff, like entertainment. I think we should try to live our lives as simply as possible.

  • btw: i am thrilled to see that you are a sam brownback supporter!

You Rock!  God Rocks!  Oh, and nothing’s better than Jesus.  Forget all the stuff.

  •  Well that goes back to the rich young ruler that asked Jesus ” how do I inherit eturnal life ? ” and Jesus said ” sell all your belongings and follow Me. ” ( these are my own words but the story and point comes from the Word )  and if you remember he didnt do it because his lust for money was too great, people need to get their ” spiritual blinders ” on if you know anything about a horse race the horses wear blinders so they do not see the horse beside them and get spooked they keep focused on finish line eyes on the prize if you will. thats how we need to be, we need to overlook money and fleshly desires and run to Him finish strong in our race for Christ.  sorry for such a long comment lol just a man with a lot to say lol my name is Josh  i would like to talk sometime shoot me a message on my site sometime when you get the chance thanks Brother and God Bless !!!!!

     Your Brother in Christ,

                                                        Pastor Josh ( Galatians 2:20 )

  • Bottom line is that if you are willing to part with it all then you have the right attitude.  If the “stuff” is more important than God, the attitude is wrong.

Yes, America has too much and is spoiled.
